Here is a message from our current interim pastor, Rev. George Daniel Plvan. It describes a basic
background on our church, and our beliefs.
Dear Friends -

I am pleased to greet you on behalf of the people of Nazareth
Lutheran Church, Hopewell, Virginia.

Hopewell is located southeast of Richmond, Virginia, near
Petersburg, Colonial Heights and Ft. Lee at the confluence of the
James and Appomattox rivers.

Nazareth Lutheran Church was organized in 1928 and since that
time it has vigorously sought to carry out the Great Commission of
the Lord by sharing the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ
whenever and wherever possible.

Having been served by a series of dedicated and faithful Pastors
down through the years, Nazareth is currently without a Called
Pastor. She is being served by Pastor George D. Plvan, Interim
Pastor. Pastor Plvan lives in Emporia, VA, conducts the Worship
Services and spends at least one day a week in Hopewell.. The
congregation is involved in Calling a Pastor and God-willing will
soon have its own shepherd.

If you are interested in learning more about our congregation and
its programs you are invited to contact us by Email, telephone or
fax. And if you are visiting in the Richmond-Williamsburg-Norfolk
area we would be delighted to have you worship with us. Currently
our Worship Hour is 11:00 am on Sunday morning and we
celebrate the Sacrament of the Altar on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Sundays of every month. A slightly contemporary service is held on
the 1st Sunday of each month and the regular traditional liturgy is
followed all other Sundays.

We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you.

May God bless you and keep you in His care.

Rev. George Daniel Plvan, Interim Pastor
